A One-of-a-Kind Handcrafted Woven Straw Hat
We partner with a women's weaving co-op in Cuenca, Ecuador to weave each Minga hat by hand one by one.
The straw blank then goes to our our artisan partners to press and shape. Once it’s formed, it’s carefully trimmed, ironed, cleaned and sewn.
Made from Natural Fibers + Materials
We work with raw materials, like wool and paja toquilla straw, to make all of our hats. We also use vegtable-tanned, handcrafted leather accessories that are built to last. We do our best to cut down on waste and consider each step of the process in our work.

The Boater was the shape and style I had been searching for, and it was stunning in real life out of the box. Beautiful craftsmanship and a stiff, strong brim. Unfortunately, I discovered that the crown on this style is not deep enough for my long face and appeared a little too “perchy.” I exchanged for the Ranchera, which gave me a little more coverage and am very happy.
I love hats but I’m picky. I bought this hat for a trip to the beach and it did NOT disappoint. The strap helps make this so functional for the windy days at the beach. It’s adorable and so stylish. I love it!
Love this hat! It is chic, well made and fits well.

Love the colour, the shape and the leather strap, the hat is also a perfect fit for me (size small). The straw fabric is a little thicker, harder and stiffer than I had anticipated, always difficult when buying online to know how the fabric will feel. Delivery to UK was very fast and the hat was very well packed so even though it was opened at customs, there was no damage. Thank you Minga, would definitely recommend.

Hat dreams! I once forgot this hat for a vacation and it significantly impacted the quality of my time. I (try to) bring this with me everywhere— picnic, gardening, market, beach etc. I was surprised by how versatile the style is! The straps are key for breezy days too. I also have a child-sized head and it’s actually quite an annoying woe. The small fits perfectly. I’m pretty hard on things and I’ve had this hat for years now and it’s in great condition. The material is firm yet flexible and I love the thin straps. I also love the width of the brim — bold but not swimming in it which can happen with most hats on me. The love, care, and attention to craftsmanship is clear. Much gratitude to the plants and people weaving their heart and soul into Ming’s products. 🦋🌞💚👏🏼
